WHERE I COME FROM

I have been a resident of Milton since I was 12 years old. I have grown into the woman I am today because of the influence of educators, staff, and community members and organizations in Milton that made it possible for me to succeed. I hope to contribute to the system that I owe so much to and strive to make an even better system for the children of Milton now, and in the future.

WHY I AM RUNNING

The reason I am running for HCDSB trustee is that I am looking to advocate for the students, teachers, staff and families of my community through a lens of diversity, equity and progress. External factors like budget restrictions and learning through the COVID-19 pandemic along with many other variables make it clear now more than ever that our and families need support. They need a safe space to cultivate the kind of system that breaks down barriers to success instead of ignoring them.
School is often the first contact for students, where they spend the majority of their time and build relationships that impact their futures. If our hope is to offer a holistic education experience focusing on mental, spiritual and academic growth, it is essential we continue to fight for the kind of change that will empower those within the HCDSB system with the tools and support they need now and as those needs change.

MISSION STATEMENT

WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME

A trustees primary objective is to uphold the needs and priorities of the community they serve in their decisions. I want to break down barriers between council and community and actively engage in conversations to help create the kind of education system that reflects the growing needs of those within it.
